Innovative Temporary Works Design

UBS Ltd has for years been responsible for providing Access scaffolds and systems to many situations where options are limited.  Problems can be solved.  Coming up with innovative ideas, putting a design to it, proving the design using calculations and modelling is all part of the service UBS Ltd provide.

To help us achieve this we use the services of Ellis Design Associates as our consulting engineers.  They specialise in the design and checking of temporary structures used during construction of buildings and civil engineering projects. Temporary works design and checking, forms the core of their business.  They have experience of a wide range of temporary structures including aluminium Common Platform hoist towers to support multiple rack and pinion and rope hauled hoists, heavy falseworks, cofferdams, access platforms, and lifting equipment.

UBS & Ellis Design Associates have been involved in many of the recent exciting high rise projects in London including the Canary Wharf development, the Swiss Re building, officially know as 30 St Mary Axe, as well as the 33 storey tower built at West India Quay for Multiplex.  Another recent project is the 66 storey twin towers built for AOL Time Warner in New York. UBS & Ellis Design Associates are also involved with the 50 storey Beetham tower in Manchester for client Carillion, which will accommodate a new Hilton Hotel. All of these projects used the UBS Aluminium Common Platform hoist tower system in conjunction high speed, high capacity hoists.
